Cured Tour Begins 22 May!

Laurence Clark’s play, CURED is touring at Liverpool’s Royal Court from 22 May - 6 June, the Belgrade Theatre Coventry from 11 - 13 June, and at Hull Truck Theatre from 24 - 27 June!

Produced by Liverpool’s Royal Court with Birds of Paradise Theatre, this hilarious show has now released a trailer which can be watched here!

For some, a holy pilgrimage to Lourdes is all prayers, candles and proper holy contemplation.

For this mad bunch of disabled kids, it’s bevvys, mucking about and getting off with each other… and definitely no miracle cures!

When cocky wheelchair‑user Connor spots sharp‑tongued Rose in the benefits assessment waiting room, he thinks, “Right, I’m in here.” So, he blags his way onto a Catholic charity coach trip to Lourdes purely to try and impress her. What follows is terrible hymns, stolen wine, questionable miracles and one very pissed off nun.

Join four young pilgrims as they take on ridiculous rules, awkward exes, secret crushes, and the big question nobody ever asks: do disabled people actually want to be cured, or are we perfectly fine as we are?

Cured is a two‑fingered salute to pious nonsense, a huge love letter to life, and proof that friends, a decent snog and a cheeky pint of cheap plonk when Sister Mary’s not looking can cure far more than a plastic bottle of holy water shaped like the Virgin Mary.
