A Pressing Engagement Announced!

A PRESSING ENGAGEMENT, an Audible original based on Jilly Cooper’s short story and adapted for audio by Haworth client Dare Aiyegbayo, has now been announced!

Directed by Sarah Esdaile and produced by Happy Prince in collaboration with the Jilly Cooper Estate, the audio original is set to be released 16 July 2026. The cast will include Rhea Norwood, Corey Mylchreest, Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade, Vivian Oparah and Bessie Carter.

Set in London in 1978, the story follows Hester, a secretary whose older boyfriend, Julian, refuses to commit. When Hester is offered a role to assist a film producer, she sees a chance to change everything. But leaving will mean breaking her boss’s heart that is until she hatches a plan: fake an engagement. The catch? Her supposed fiancé, childhood friend Nico, has clue.
