REBECCA JADE HAMMOND

Rebecca is a Welsh writer, actor, lecturer and Artistic Director/Founder of critically acclaimed Chippy Lane Productions Ltd. She has recently worked with National Theatre Wales and Lagos Theatre Festival on a Writers Exchange. Rebecca’s play Right Where We Left Us had a run at Chapter, Cardiff in Autumn 2022 and was published by Methuen Drama; and Mad Margot, her commission with Sherman Theatre and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama ran at the RWCMD and The Yard, Hackney in Summer 2023. Rebecca is under commission with LAMDA to write a new play Welcome To Bettyland (2024), directed by Olivier-nominated director Tristan Fynn Aiduenu (For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy). She is also working on a new television comedy-drama about adult cheerleading with actress Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education).

Rebecca lectures at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and at Mountview. As an actor, Rebecca trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has appeared in several big television series including BAFTA Cymru-nominated comedy The Tuckers (BBC), Silent Witness (BBC) and Trollied (Sky One).
