PATSI MACKENZIE

Patsi is a screenwriter from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. She is co-writer of the four-part murder mystery series An t-Eilean/The Island by Black Camel Pictures, screened on BBC4 and BBC Alba. An t-Eilean/The Island was nominated for Best Television Scripted at the 2025 BAFTA Scotland awards and won the Drama and Entertainment Prize and Grand Prix at the Prix CIRCOM 2025 awards. It is nominated at the Celtic Media Festival 2026 Awards for Best Drama. She was also Lead Writer on both series of drama serial An Clò Mòr (The Great Cloth) for BBC ALBA.

She began her career as a researcher and presenter, before training with STV and the BBC. She has worked across all aspects of television production, establishing her own independent company Sorbier Productions in 2005. Sorbier produced documentary, drama, docu-drama and children’s content, garnering a raft of awards and nominations from RTS, BAFTA and Celtic Media Festival.

Patsi is currently Lead Writer on a feature length script with Rugged Island Films, to be directed by Douglas Mackinnon, and has several other projects in development.

Patsi also presents radio and television, including the podcast Tales from the Blue Coast, produced from her second home in Nice. These conversations with others devoted to life in the Riviera, embrace culture, work, life, love, food and music.
