DISCO by Nick Walker Premieres on Radio 4 June 2!
The first episode of DISCO, a new Radio 4 series written by Nick Walker (creator of Annika), read by Bryony Hannah, and produced by Jeremy Osborne, will be playing on BBC Radio 4 at 22:45 Monday June 2nd!
Disco centres on Marnie Crawford, a huge fan of Sister Sledge who knows about cognitive bias theory, uses voice notes to help her think, and has an 85% crime solve rate in the police. Seeking to improve their declining arrest record, the Ministry of Defence has set up a new unit of the Military Police and have asked Marnie, a civilian, to head it up. The new unit is D:SCO (Defence: Serious Case Operations). And, of course, everyone calls it DISCO.
In this first of five episodes, Functional Fixedness, DISCO’s first ever case takes them to a working men’s club in Burnley, to investigate the murder of a military bandsman.
