Laura Carreira and Suhayla El-Bushra make 2025 BIFA New Talent Longlist!

Laura Carreira and Suhayla El-Bushra have been longlisted as nominees for the 2025 BIFA New Talent awards!

Laura is in the running for the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director and the Best Debut Screenwriter Award for ON FALLING. Suhayla El-Bushra is listed for the Best Debut Screenwriter Award for BRIDES.

The five BIFA nominees in each award category will be announced on 3 November 2025 and the winners will be honoued at the 28th BIFA ceremony on 30 November 2025 at the Camden Roundhouse.
