KITTY PERCY
An award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker known both for original work and for adaptations in film and TV, Kitty Percy’s acclaimed debut feature SHE WILL (dir. Charlotte Colbert, starring Alice Krige and Malcom McDowell) had a London Film Festival premiere and a successful worldwide theatrical release in 2022. Kitty was selected for the 2025 BIFA Springboard cohort, and has in development several original film projects and a five-part thriller with Wild Mercury / Banijay. Her episode of crime drama series ART DETECTIVES (starring Stephen Moyer, TRUE BLOOD) for Black Dog Television and UKTV recently premiered in the US to record audiences. An alumna of the prestigious 4Screenwriting programme, Kitty has collaborated in writers’ rooms and created episodes for numerous TV shows including BBC series SISTER BONIFACE MYSTERIES and SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY. Her book-to-screen commissions include DARKNESS FALLS (adapted from ‘The Vanishing of Katharina Linden’ by Helen Grant) and a confidential thriller adaptation with Blazing Griffin. Kitty recently made her first two short films as writer/director: FOR BETTER, funded by BFI South West and starring Alice Lowe, has screened at BAFTA and BIFA-affiliated festivals including Dinard, Aesthetica and London Short Film Festival. He debut short, sci-fi love story RED PLANET BLUE, won her the 2024 IMDb New Filmmaker Award. Kitty writes with a darkly comedic edge, tackling complex themes surrounding relationships, mental illness, family dynamics and sexual politics, while her knack for pace and atmosphere enables her to work across genres including drama, crime, horror, and high concept ‘near fi’.
