ANITA VETTESSE
Anita was part of the 2023/24 Brit List with her four-part revenge thriller, Your Knife, My Back, My Gun, Your Head. She is currently developing Blue Mountain, an original neo-Western drama set in the Scottish Highlands with Big Light and Synchronicity Films. Other TV projects include an episode of Shetland, an episode for a new World Productions series; a TV adaptation for Synchronicity Films; and a TV adaptation for Britbox/Junction Films.
Anita also co-created BBC Radio 4’s crime drama This Thing of Darkness (winner of the British Podcast Award 2021 and nominee for Best Writer, Tinniswood 2021). She is co-writing a new radio series for BBC Limelight, Unresolved, due to be broadcast in 2026 as well as original two part due to be broadcast in 2027, also for Radio 4.
Her theatre work includes Ringroad, which was nominated for Best New Play at the Critics’ Theatre Awards and is currently being toured by Theatre Bistouri in Québec. Anita was writer in residence at National Theatre Scotland as part of the John Mather Trust Award and written a dark thriller, The Hand Over. She has just finished writing Five Things, a modern ghost story, to be staged in 2027.
