ALYS METCALF
Alys is a Welsh screenwriter and playwright, and an alumna of BBC Cornish Voices and the BBC Comedy Room. She currently has a script under commission and is developing projects with Clerkenwell Films and Bad Wolf. Her sitcom The Home was optioned by Hartswood Films, with further sitcom development for Objective and Merman. For the BBC, she has written official guides including Peaky Blinders: Ultimate Recap and Beginner’s Guide to Line of Duty (Lovie Award winner).
Her feature Little Rock is in development with Blue Horizon Productions, funded by Ffilm Cymru / BFI. She has just written and directed her first Ffilm Cymru / BFI short, Bad Form, produced by Blue Horizon productions. Her previous short Remnants screened at the London Short Film Festival, winning Best Film and Best Writing at the International 100 Hour Film Racing competition.
For theatre, her play YOU 2.0 was staged at National Theatre as part of the Connections programme and her play Leopards at Rose Theatre, was produced by Francesca Moody Productions. She is currently in R&D with Theatr Clwyd, is a BAFTA Cymru member, and recently featured on an emerging writers panel at the London Film Festival.
